FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ’S)
Q: Why can’t I access my savings
account with my Visa® Check Card?
A: Our Visa Check Card is a “checking” account access
card. Money would need to be transferred from your share/savings
to your share draft/checking in order to access it using your Visa
Check Card. The Credit Union is exploring a new card for share/savings
access.
Q: Are my Visa Check card transactions
in real-time?
A: No. Our Visa Check Card is not “live”, it is “batch”.
What this means is that we will not debit your account the moment
that you use the ATM machine or pay for merchandise; instead it
will come out of your account a few days later. This also means
that we have to send a batch balance update for all account balance
changes. Since this balance update is a batch, it can only be updated
during business hours. This can delay the availability of funds
you’ve deposited when using your Visa Check Card.
Q: Are there limits on the use of my Visa Check Card?
A: Yes. To prevent fraud on your account, there are daily limits imposed on the use of your Visa Check Card. Those daily limits are: Any combination of (9) or $2,500 in ATM or point of sale transactions. If these limits have been met, any further transactions will be denied.
Q: If I do not have funds in my share
draft/checking account and I use my debit card – will the
funds come out of my savings to cover the transaction?
A: All Visa Check Card transactions attempt approval based on the
amount available in the share draft/checking account only. If the
money is not in the share draft/checking account, the transaction
will be declined. If you think that you may need to use your Visa
Check Card and you do not have the funds in the share draft/checking,
you may want to transfer money from your share/savings before you
attempt to use your Visa Check Card. If the money is in the share
draft/checking account, the transaction will be approved.
In addition, since Our Visa Check Card is not “live”,
it is “batch”; the transaction will post to your account
a couple days later. This may result in your account not having
enough money in it to cover the transaction, possibly because other
checks or withdrawals have come out of your account before the transaction.
In this case, the money may overdraft transfer from your share/savings
account to cover the transaction based on availability in your share/savings
and “Regulation D”. For more information on “Regulation
D” click

Q: Can I transfer money to another
account number on Bucks On-Line?
A: Yes. In order to do this, you will need to log into the account
that you would want the money to come from and complete a “Cross
Acct App” with the number that you would like the money to
go into. Once we process the “Cross Acct App” (usually
that business day), you can click on the “Transfer Funds”
link on the left-hand side. You will see that you have “Other
Accounts” listed in the “Transfer To Account”
field.
Q: Does “Regulation D”(maximum
of 6 transfers per month) apply to transfers from my vacation club
to my share draft/checking?
A: “Regulation D” applies to all savings accounts –
whether vacation club, primary share/savings or secondary share/savings.
For more information on “Regulation D” click
here.
Q: When using my Visa Check Card,
do I use my PIN or should I sign?
A: Bucks First FCU advises you to sign at all point of sale transactions
whenever possible. Signing for purchases offers more security than
using one’s PIN in a crowded check-out aisle. Enter your PIN
only if you want to take advantage of a cash back option (if available)
or you are at an ATM machine and need cash.
Q: How many Visa Check Card transactions
am I allowed to do in one day?
A: If you are using the card at a merchant, you are allowed 9 transactions
in one day. This allows you to go to the outlets and shop, shop,
shop!
Q: What is the daily maximum that
I can withdraw from an ATM machine using my Visa Check Card?
A: The daily ATM limit on our card is $500.00. Please realize that
you may not be able to take that from one ATM machine since some
machines have their own limit of $200.00-$400.00. Also, keep in
mind that if the ATM machine has a surcharge, this amount is included
in your daily limit.
Q: How do I reset my Bucks On-Line
password?
A: If you get a message that tells you that you are locked out when
you are trying to log onto Bucks On-Line, you can click on the “Forgot
Password?” link on our Home page.
Once you click on the link, you will need to put in your account
number and your email address. “The
email address you enter here must match the address previously saved
in home banking.” If it does not match, you
will get a message stating “Email
you entered does not match previously saved address.”
and you should email member services at
. If your email address does match, you will be emailed a new password
immediately to that email address. You will be required to change
it the first time you log in with that new password.
If you email member services at
, your password will be reset to the last four of your SSN within
the next business day. Member services staff will send you an email
once your account has been reset.
